Profile:
Tihomir Sabchev is an early career researcher with multidisciplinary international background. He holds a BA in Political Science from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and a MSc in Social Sciences (Comparative Public Policy and Welfare Studies) from the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in international human rights law at the School of Law, Utrecht University.
As a member of the "Cities of Refuge" NWO VICI research project, Tihomir studies the relevance of international human rights as law, praxis and discourse, to how local governments in Greece and Italy welcome and integrate refugees. His main research interests are local policies and practices for immigrant/refugee reception and integration, and private/community-based refugee sponsorship.
